TOTALLY TOASTY!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a serious passion for jaffles. So, you can understand my excitement when I opened this month's issue of Australian Gourmet Traveller and found an article entitled 'The Toastmasters' entirely dedicated to twenty-five chefs nominating their favourite jaffle fillings! Needless to say, the first thing I did after reading the article and wiping the drool that had subsequently fallen down my chin, was head to the kitchen, retrieve my beloved jaffle maker and get down to business.

Honestly, what is there not to love about a jaffle? You can essentially stuff whatever ingredients your heart desires between two slices of crunchy, crispy bread and seal it into a delicious, hot pocket of love. Sweet or savory, the possibilities are literally endless. And the best part is, you only need to clean up one thing afterwards! The "toastmasters" come up with some pretty genius fillings that i'll definitely be experimenting with over the course of my jaffle-making career. For me, the ultimate jaffle filling would be camembert cheese and fresh figs, drizzled with a honey and walnut dressing and served with a side of 45 minutes cardio training. If you know what's good for you, check out 'The Toastmasters' article here.
